ACCREDITATION POINT

PLATEA 20’s meeting point - Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM)

Here is where guests will get accredited and we will hand out credentials, tickets to shows and the info on all the activities. If you have any doubts, you know where to find us.

Our attention hours are:

Monday 20th to Friday 24th - 12.00h to 16.00h
Tuesday 21th to Friday 24th - 09.30h to 16.00h
Saturday 25th - 10.30h to 16.00h
Sunday 26th – 10.30h to 13.00h

BUSES

To secure attendance to Festival performances, we will have buses available, leaving from the the official Hotel to the respective venues. The information, with time schedules, will be sent daily to the guests’ emails, and will be available at the accreditation point, located at GAM Cultural Center.

CLIMATE

Santiago is in Chile’s central zone. Chile’s summer, which is when Platea takes place, is usually dry and hot, with temperatures up to 32°C/90°F. We recommend to apply sunblock, summer footwear, sunglasses, a hat and caring a bottle of water during the day.

TRANSPORT

Subway: The metro or subway has six lines which go from east to west and north to south, connecting a large part of the Metropolitan area. You can plan how to get around the capital using its website.

Bip Card: To pay for your bus fare, you will need to use a Bip card, which allows you to pay only one fare, making a maximum of three changes in different transportation (bus and metro). You can purchase and change your card at subway stations and at participating shops. The card costs $1.550 Chilean pesos and the minimum amount you can put on the card is $750 Chilean pesos.

Airport transport: Transvip – Shared and private options.

There is no flat rate but you can use the referential prices as a guide:

Airport to Intercontinental Hotel:
Shared transfer $7400.
Exclusive transfer $26.400.
Executive taxi $19.500.

We recommend to make a reservation 24 hour in advance.
If you wish to use another company, we recommend to take the official Airport Taxis for safety reasons.

MONEY EXCHANGE

Money exchange houses are open from Monday to Friday, although some are also open on weekends. Do not change money on the street, only inside banks or established money exchanges.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

If your identity documents are stolen or lost, presenters and foreign artists should go to any police office of Carabineros de Chile. The nearest office is located at Metro Baquedano, or you can call the emergency line 133.
