The Company
The origins of Jose Vidal & Company date back to 2010 in London, with the collective Hopscotch, created by Jose Vidal along with Juliana Majo and Monserrat Ventura, after Vidal completed a Master of Arts in Contemporary Dance and worked as an associate artist at The Place.
In 2011, Vidal returned to Chile with the intention of sharing his creative search and continuing to bring together people from different cultures, disciplines, areas, and life experiences, around the scenic experimentation of the body in movement. Since then, the company has been constituted as a flexible and mutating structure, where its participants move according to the artistic needs and the exosystems that the director composes.
The company is characterized by the synergy of the collective, resulting from the meeting and feedback of the performers who configure a dynamic of collaborations. An instance of continuous and mutual learning of technical, theoretical, and artistic knowledge of the permanent cast and invited experts, who contribute with specific skills. Thus, the ensemble activates a collective intelligence in permanent transformation, organic and in tune with the social and cultural field.

Jose Vidal & Company returns to GAM after a decade, with their first work after the social outbreak and pandemic: an immersive and reflective work, an invitation to contemplation through play, joy, and the expansion of bodies in movement.
The work explores the notion of NUBE (CLOUD) as a symbol of contemplation, movement, and transformation, a structure that we cannot trap: at once elusive and ephemeral, a symbolic and sensitive reflection of our unconscious, of our deepest emotions and desires. Here, the bodies oscillate, expand, transit, and play in an intimate connection between above and below, inside and outside: flowing in an endless channel, between the divine and the earthly.
