The historic Peruvian company Yuyachkani celebrates its 50 years of experience by performing at the Festival Teatro a Mil with a multidisciplinary intervention in the public space, which seeks to pay tribute to theater.
The audience will witness a dreamlike moment, where aristocratic characters on their way to the re-inauguration of a theater, encounter an unexpected situation: the characters of the play have escaped from the theater. In the street, these characters will mingle with the passers-by who inhabit the city's everyday life and who have not been invited.
El teatro es sueño (The Theatre is Dream) is a tribute to the theater and intertwines diverse artistic languages, texts by masters of the performing arts, characters from different plays of the Yuyachkani repertoire, and live music. The show is also a celebration of gratitude and appreciation for the half-century of life of the Yuyachkani Cultural Group.
